A Simple Country Mouse

When you think of Valentine's day do you think of cheesy hearts and candy? The cliche stuffed animals, and roses are red stuff? Or are you the type of person who remembers the reason behind it? While it's true there really was a man named Valentine and he later became a saint after being martyred, we don't know the entirety of the story. There are many legends however. The one that always struck me was this, and yes, in true style of me you are about to get a bedtime story. Once upon a time, many a year ago, there was a man by the name of Valentine. During the time which Valentine lived there was a king who's name was Claudius II. Now Claudius was a man of war and needed soldiers for his army. After several campaigns his men began to grumble about wanting to go home to their families. To encourage his men to war rather than be with their families, he banned marriage completely. Do you ever go a long trip and find that you are more tired from your trip than when you left in the first place? What is it about coming home that is just so nice? Even though we all love trips, there is something about coming home that can be very refreshing. With Gamer gone for the last three weeks, I've been getting Hidden Forest unpacked and ready for company. It's been busy but I have to say it doesn't take away from the fact that he's gone for long. It distracts me for a time, but then I realize that he's not there when I go to say something to him. But he's coming home Thursday hopefully!!!!!!!! I can't wait. It's the same day that I get to introduce a new character to our little family. Well technically three new characters. We shall call them Lil Lizard, and her girls Star and Faith. Now those aren't their actual names of course, but that's what they shall go by on this blog. Same reason I go by country mouse. Though I must say I think...

I love those days that no matter how grumpy you wake up you wind up going to bed smiling. Gamer somehow manages to do that to me on a daily basis. Last night was a long night due to little Space Monkey waking up every 10 minutes and not letting mama get any sleep. So of course I woke up grumpy as could be. But after a nap while she was napping I felt much more alive. Add to the fact that my hubby was off all day and we got to text, it turned out pretty good. Even the store not having fish sauce for a recipe I'm working on couldn't ruin my good mood. Poor little one is still teething. That blasted tooth is giving her a heck of a time. I also got to chat with Wizard and Pixie today. They are doing great and coming to see me here soon. I can't wait. All of Sound Castle will be together again for the first time in to long. And we get to initiate Pixie to the family. Poor thing. But hey she's dating Wizard and we come with the package. It'll be good. So today's post...
