Coming Home
Do you ever go a long trip and find that you are more tired from your trip than when you left in the first place? What is it about coming home that is just so nice? Even though we all love trips, there is something about coming home that can be very refreshing. With Gamer gone for the last three weeks, I've been getting Hidden Forest unpacked and ready for company. It's been busy but I have to say it doesn't take away from the fact that he's gone for long. It distracts me for a time, but then I realize that he's not there when I go to say something to him. But he's coming home Thursday hopefully!!!!!!!! I can't wait. It's the same day that I get to introduce a new character to our little family. Well technically three new characters. We shall call them Lil Lizard, and her girls Star and Faith.
Now those aren't their actual names of course, but that's what they shall go by on this blog. Same reason I go by country mouse. Though I must say I think it's high time we change that. Here's why. Many years ago Wizard and I worked together in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere as a team with our chef. Often it was just Wizard, Chef, and I on staff. Wizard was my dishwasher and I waited tables. It was a jolly ol' time. Many, many fond memories. However my favorite was this. Often times We would need things from the walk in which at the time had been built into a separate building. When waiting tables, I was pretty busy so I'd ask Wizard to go grab things from there. He loved to tease and say no. So, let's just say we found out that baked golden potatoes explode when they hit something, like say a wall. (insert roaring laughter) And ice? Well, ice can be very very very cold when dumped down ones shirt and into one's pants. Lamb burgers, now those are fun but man do they hurt. In the end I often asked are you a man or a mouse. Turns out he's a mouse. According to him I'm a badger. Cute, but not something you poke with a stick. (shake head) So the names stuck. He's Mouse and I'm Badger. Then to add to the list is Kitty. So all in all Little Space Monkey (hahahaha) has Uncle Mouse, Auntie Kitty, and Mama Badger. So what do you say? Time to change Wizard to his true name of Mouse, and me to badger? Yeah I agree. Besides Pixies like Mice more that Wizards. (Insert huge rolling on the floor laughing in sarcasm)
Well my dear friends, it's time for me to get onto my painting project for Pixie's birthday and get the house finished for Lil Lizard. It's going to be a great weekend!
