Pancakes, and Berries, and Syrup OH MY!

Yesterday was a lovely day spent together as a family down at our local farmer's market. And quite the market it was. There was so much lovely product, and food, and well, it was just lovely. We wandered the market with no real goal except to have some fun. We found fresh black berries, and a peach. Homemade cheesecake, and lemon bars. Coffee poured over root beer and my favorite, yummy Greek gyros. For those of you who don't know what a gyro is, it's a type of sandwich I suppose. A warmed pita is filled with tzatziki sauce (a yogurt based sauce with herbs), red onion, feta cheese, and meat that is vertically roasted, most commonly lamb. Sometimes they put in herbed roasted potatoes too. That's what I had. Oh yum yum yum. I rarely get them, maybe once or twice a year, but when I do, I so thoroughly enjoy them. Some day I'd like to learn how to make my own, but that day isn't anytime soon as the vertically roasting thing is at least $600 to even get started. Yeah...

A Day to Stop

Well ladies and gentlemen, it's official. Our little boy is healthy as can be! No signs of any major problems, and all looks right with the world for now! Gamer gets his cast off soon, and work is going fantastic for me. Sam is doing great. She's still terrible two-ing, but it will get better in time, and with my patience slowly coming back due to less stress, it's getting even better. She may be just under two, and not able to use full words for the most part but it doesn't stop her from back talking. Goofy kid, as if I'm going to allow that in my house, not a chance. She's learning though. Day by day she's gets better. For the most part she really is a good kid. Our boy is as strong and sometimes defiant as his sister. He makes himself known when he's not happy about how I'm laying, or standing, or what pants I'm wearing. He's kicking so hard you can watch my whole tummy move. Gamer and I were curled up next to each other laying flat last n...

Real Life

So what is real life? I know I haven't posted in a while and I figured I would explain why. I've been stuck in real life. Real life being the world that exists outside twitter, facebook, instagram, snapchat, and well you get the idea. The life outside of the computer, the one where real people that you actually have a conversation face to face with, and where you have to interact with other humans that you can physically touch. Right now for example even as I write this post I'm watching my husband and daughter play with blocks in her little play pen. I love it. I have been dealing with a lot on my plate in real life. Gamer is still out of work, I'm waiting on my blood tests to come back from the doctor (which was a whole other stress as I'm terrified of needles), I've got another doctor's appointment next week, as well as work, and of course missing my daughter while I'm gone and can't be home. I'm trying to get back to my jewelry, and my painti...

Rain In Summer?

What is this rain is summer thing? I roused this morning to find myself staring at gray clouds and falling rain....in JULY! This never happens. But then I got to thinking about it, and was kind of excited. That meant it would be cooler today, right? Yeah...not so much unfortunately. It was plenty warm, however add in rain and you get muggy. Toss in pregnancy...shoot me now. By the end of my shift I was sweaty and ready to be done. It's a need to be off my feet night. Maybe movie, and cuddles. Oh and the best grilled cheese sandwiches this side of heaven. Gamer makes the best, and I do mean the best, grilled cheese ever. They are always so perfectly melted, and gooey, and lightly golden, and so buttery it slides down your throat with nary a chew. So, so, so delicious. Perfect for rainy days or any day I don't want to cook. While it's one of the only things he can cook, it's at least pretty d*** amazing. Tonight he added sliced ham to mine for some extra protein. As it...

Our Service Men

So tomorrow is Fourth of July. A day when we remember how our country came to stand on it's own two feet. The day when we declared our independence from any other country or government other than our own. But like all freedom, our independence was bought at a high price. One that cannot ever be replaced and one that should never be forgotten. It came at the price of human lives. A single human life is irreplaceable, but there were thousands that believed in our cause enough to die for it. We stand as a country today because of their bravery and sacrifice. But they aren't the only ones who have fought and died for this country. Over the years we have lost over 1,350,000 servicemen in wars and battles to keep our country safe. Many of these names are long forgotten, and many of these names are carved in stone, but every one was a given sacrifice for something they believed in. Each one was a cherished family member to someone, be it blood or bond. Fathers, mothers, brothers, sis...

Laundry Days

So for those of you who have a washer and dryer in your home you know how easy it is to keep up on laundry if /when you have a big day that suddenly comes up. Just toss in a load and viola you're done. Well for those of us who don't have a washer and dryer in home, we require the use of what is called the Laundry Mat...(dun dun duuunnnnn). Some are not to bad, some are really nice, and some are down right scary. Today's tale takes place at a not to bad laundry mat. First things first about laundry mats, you must always bring everything you require to the mat. This includes laundry, washing soap (tide pods in my case), softener (if you use that, which I don't), dryer sheets, and of course something to carry your laundry in (such as a basket or garbage bag, though baskets are much simpler). Without one of these important ingredients, say tide pods, you will be required to buy cheap crap to wash your clothing with. Now, the other thing you will require and is the most imp...
