May Life Hand You Lemons
I know it sounds crazy but I hope that life hands you lemons once in a while. I've had a lot of lemons these past few months but man did the sugar in my life make for the perfect lemonade.
*A few months ago Josh lost his job with the company he was working at. In just a few days, he was hired with a new company and it came with a pay raise and solid work hours for our family.
*I found out that I wasn't my father's biological daughter. That was a kick to the gut let me tell you. In the end, Dad and I are much closer than we were before.
*We lost our niece to Trisomy 18 before we even got to meet her. Giving into the grieving process for Ava Hope allowed us to finish the grieving process for our own Darrin James, who we lost before Sam was born.
*We have been looking for houses and every offer we put in was either rejected or the house didn't pass inspection. We are now the proud owners of a plot of land that will soon have the perfect house for our family on it because we switched to looking for new construction.
*The kids have been off and on sick, but it meant that I spent some extra quality time with them.
*The house was looking like a tornado ripped through it and had babies. Josh decided that he needed to step up and help out with cleaning as much as he could because he could see I was struggling just to hang on.
*My cousin graduated and has left me here, but we are so much closer because we got to spend so much time together while she was here at college.
*I've been wanting a job of some kind that I could feel like I was contributing to our family, but I couldn't work outside the home. A local bakery MiFlavour has hired me to do all the descriptions for their products and help with the descriptions for their website. Bonus: We now have some very sweet friends too. And macarons. Delicious, delightful, spectacular macarons. I think I've gained 10 pounds. Worth every single calorie though.
See, Life handed us lemons, but there was a sweet that went with it. We just had to be willing to find it. While these are just a few examples of the things we have been going through, it gives you an idea of how life likes to hand us all something that be hard to deal with, but if we are patient and wait on God, He has something amazing for us. If we are willing to go where God has called us to go and we are moving forward with that, then He will give us just the right amount of sweet to balance out the sour. Trusting that He has our best interest in mind and knowing that His blessings far exceed anything we could try to do for ourselves has kept Josh and I going through all kinds of things. It has been amazing to watch God work in our lives and in the lives of our children.
So my hope for you my readers is that life hands you lemons and God gives you a little sugar so you can make lemonade.
