Highlanders, Romance, and Danger Oh My!
Yeah yeah yeah I know. I haven't blogged in an age, but I promise you the next post will explain the why. This one however, I just need to let off steam and what better way to do so than to give you a review of a few books I've been so very happily spending my little bit of spare time in.
A little while ago Josh discovered that Barnes and Noble is my kryptonite. So, I was sent on a mission to discover my latest favorites in books. And oh the wonders I have found and the spells that had been spun around my overly imaginative little mind.
Lynsay Sands is a spectacular writer who's tales will weave their way into your mind and set it racing across the Highlands and battling evil vampires (excuse me, Immortals). I had the pleasure of reading several of her Highland Brides series and the Argeneau series. I have to say of them all, my favorite so far has been The Wrong Highlander. It's about a girl who is desperately trying to save her dying father by kidnapping a famous highland healer. However, she nabs the brother of the healer instead. Oops. Nope, I'm not spoiling anymore. I highly recommend diving in and thoroughly enjoying the whole lot.
Alyson McLayne has rapidly become another of my new favorite authors. She began writing a series of books about 5 foster brothers in the Highlands and the amazing man who brought them all together. I won't lie. I simply couldn't put the books down. I finished the first in 4 hours. From page one until the end of each book I was hooked and drawn into a world of brotherly love, fiercely protective men, wild romances, feisty and fearless women, and of course deviously dangerous villains. While each can be read separately, I recommend starting with Highland Promise as it's technically the first book. Highland Betrayal though was my favorite. A dagger throwing lass and a brawny man must suss out the evil in their own clans if they are to survive, but will they survive the betrayal that comes their way from within? Ha ha ha ha! Now you must read them to find out!
That should keep you all busy while I finish a few projects before my next post.
Enjoy!
