Slavery
I know many if not all of you have heard of the goings on in Charlottesville. And as much as I rarely get into politics, I think perhaps this would be a good time to step up and say a little something. I know this will offend someone somewhere because anymore it seems like you can't so much as sniffle without someone throwing a temper tantrum in the form of a riot, but here goes anyways.
What is slavery? Webster's dictionary defines slavery as: the state of being a slave, the practice or system of owning slaves, a condition compared to that of a slave in respect of exhausting labor or restricted freedoms. So then what is a slave? Again according to Webster a slave is: a person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them, a person who works very hard without remuneration or appreciation, a person who is excessively dependent on or controlled by something.
Now that we have that out of the way, let take a look at the why of this whole kerfuffle. Antifa and leftist demand that the statues and anything about the south pre civil/civil war is a reminder of slavery and that it should be destroyed because of offense to whoever it offends namely blacks. The white supremacists demand that they stay to remind the "blacks of their place" because whites are the true race. Wow...anyone else want to punch both sides for their stupidity? In the middle of this is the average joe like you and me who couldn't care less about racism (mostly because in our lives it's non-existent), but really hate to see our history, the good, the bad, and the ugly, torn down for no good reason beyond the fact that many someones are throwing a temper tantrum of stupid proportions. Now I'm going to lay out so hard truths that people are really going to hate. But before that I want you to remember this please, everything I say here is in love for my country, and the people in it, past, present, and future.
I don't care if you are black, white, red, orange, yellow, green , blue, or purple (though the last two I'd be worried because you'd be dying of suffocation), you are a human. That means you are no less or more than anyone else on this planet. No matter where you live. If you are male or female, you are no less or more than anyone else. Yes we all have different roles to play, but that's part of being a team, a country. At some point in time every race has been the slaves of another race. Blacks to white is sadly not even the most recent. That horribleness goes to the sex traffickers. You thought that was a urban myth? Sadly, no. At this moment that's beside the point. Neither side of the Charlottesville disaster was right. In fact they were both so far wrong it's just pathetic.
Antifa and leftists: you demand that I bow to your beliefs while you have the right to trample, ignore, beat on, destroy, and mock mine. You defile not just my history, but yours and our country. You destroy property that belongs to everyone, not just you. You demand I bow to your wishes while you kick me, berate me, and even worse, are doing the exact same thing that you are supposedly fighting against. How is that fair? How is that right? How is this honoring to anyone or anything? How can you say one thing yet do the opposite? How can you look me in the face and say that you are right while with your other hand you show you're wrong? How is that loving, tolerant, uplifting, kind, courageous, or honoring? If you are so right, why hide your face behind masks? Shame, shame, shame. Perhaps it's time you rethink your approach. Just because you are loud and violent doesn't make you right. It's the quiet voice that is reason, not the loud clamoring of nonsense.
White supremacists: How dare you? How dare you demand that a wretch like Hitler is someone to follow his lead in? The man who killed millions, and skinned people for lamps. Lit people as torches for his garden as they screamed. A man who burned books, and destroyed so much all in the name of being superior while he was what he was trying to wipe out. How dare you try to paint all whites as horribly as that? How dare you demand that you are better? You are human therefore no better or worse than any other race. How dare you walk on the beliefs of others in the name of being better? How dare you kick down and beat on other humans? How dare you defile not just my history but yours? How dare you destroy property that belongs to everyone, not just you? How is that fair? How is that right? How is it honoring anyone or anything? How can you look me in the face and say that you are right when your actions prove you wrong? How is that loving, kind, tolerant, uplifting, courageous or honoring? If you are so right, why hide behind swastikas and masks? Shame, shame, shame. Perhaps it is time to rethink your approach. Just because you are loud and violent doesn't make you right. It's the quiet voice that is reason, not the loud clamoring of nonsense.
I repeat myself to you both because my argument is nearly the same for both. Grow up and stop trying to divide and destroy the country that I call home. This is the home of my loved ones, of your loved ones, of our children and their children, of our parents and their parents. How dare you destroy that which doesn't belong to you? This country is made of people, and it's the people that make it strong. But it's the people that also have the power to destroy it. Is that what you want? To be enslaved again? For that is what racism and division is. Slavery to ones own selfish desires. United we stand, but divided we fall. To stand united we must all give up our own selfish demands to be the superior. For no one is superior to anyone else. We are all just different, with different roles to play. Different strengths, different weaknesses, different personalities, different skin colors. But it's our differences that make us strong. For where one is weak, another is strong, and where the second is weak, the first is strong. We must rely one each other's strengths and weaknesses to overcome the obstacles which lay before us. We must lean on each other, and respect each other, even when we disagree. So, will you choose to stand united or fall apart?
