2014? Already?!?!?!?
Can you believe it bloggers? It's already a new year once again! That's crazy! Where did the time go? I can't believe that it's 2014. Just two years ago many people were convinced the world was going to end on 12/21/12. Yup, that worked...now that it's 1/1/14. Oh well. It was amusing none the less.
I have been trying to think about what my New Year's Resolution should be, but to be honest, I think this year it's simply going to be, live life to the fullest this year, and don't spend to much time worrying about things I can't fix.
As I stop and take a look at the world around me, and the year that I've had, I must say, I can't say it's been a bad one. Yes there have been bad things, but nothing that could take away from all the good. I started last year with the ambition to move into our own apartment, start on kids, and go on an amazing missions trip. Two of those things happened, but one didn't. Gamer and I had hoped on being pregnant, but sadly, that wish has not come to fruition just yet. Many of our friends keep telling us " In Abba's time." I know they are trying to help, but it was a dear friend of mine that told me " I know what you are going through, but look to Him and to His Word to find your encouragement." People mean well, but if you haven't been through it, you don't quite understand as well as someone who has. I thank Abba for all the people in my life that have been there to cry with us, and to laugh with us.
Here at the Sound Castle the winds of change are beginning to blow. Author is starting on some new plans that I can't reveal yet, and Scientist is looking to the future. Liddy is the same as ever, but slowly becoming more and more domesticated in that she is settling into being content with her surroundings, and liking people more. She's also not quite so skinny anymore either. When she first arrived eight months ago, she was almost nothing more that skin, bones, and a lot of fur. Now, while she is still lots of fur, she is gaining a trifle bit of weight on her. It's about time too. She loves the ball with furry tail that she got for Christmas. River, our imaginary dog, loves his new bone, and mini tennis balls. When we take down the tree and rearrange the house is bed will go under the papasan. I'm sure Liddy will love to steal the bed once in a while. Yes, we bought toys and a bed for our imaginary dog. And yes, we play fetch with him, he hasn't learned to bring to ball back yet. Heeheehee. I did accidentally hit Liddy dead center of her forehead while playing fetch with River. Oops.
Christmas here was wonderful. So far I think we have had about eight. We still have 2 left. One with Scientist's family, and one with mine. I can't wait. I asked for only one thing for Christmas, and got totally spoiled with all kinds of stuff. Brand new kitchen knives, and a cutting board to go with it were a couple of my favs from the in-laws. A holster for my .22 from Scientist, tons of quirky and fun things from Author, and a brand new car from Gamer! Like I said, I got spoiled!!! Not rotten, just spoiled. ;) The boys are playing a video game I bought for them, and Author loves her locket. Author was able to go home just after Christmas and see her family, and Scientist's are hopefully coming over for a couple of days soon. We can't wait. My family is making the trip in March, but we might head over in February for my birthday. I'm excited.
Well bloggers, now that I've written your ear off (not talked, just written) I'll shush up for the day. I can't wait to chat tomorrow. Bye!
