Late Nights, and Even Later Mornings

Well bloggers, you know the old saying sleep lost is never regained? Or is that time lost is never regained? Just kidding! But it is true that you can catch up on sleep. You can't regain time, but you can on sleep. I've spent the last couple of days doing just that. Sleeping! Granted I couldn't sleep until 4:00 in the morning on New Year's Eve, and 2:00 last night, but I did get to sleep in late too. This morning my alarm woke me out of a dead sleep to remind me that I had to pack for Gamer and drop him off at the church by 10:00. I crawled out of bed and trudged to pack. Once that was done I stumbled down to the car, and we took off for the church. I dropped him off, and headed home as quick as a whip, considering I looked like a disaster had struck. I went straight back to bed when I got home, and was out almost before my head even hit the pillow. I didn't budge for 2 hours, and then only long enough for me to glance at the time and decide I didn't care how long I slept. When I finally did rouse, I figured I had probably needed the sleep something awful, but now I just have to work out the kinks in my back and neck. Curled in a ball and not moving at all for most of the night, and then again in the morning was probably not my most ingenious idea so far. Heeheehee, at least I caught up on my sleep!
With the clouds overhead threatening rain, and a light breeze making the air just chilly enough to want to stay at home, and stretch out with a cup of coffee, and a book I started last night. I really have to stop starting a book at 9:00 at night. This one is a book about an American privateer just before the war of 1812. I have always had a thing for pirates, and privateers. Especially American ones. At one point my little brother and I had dreams of building a fleet of ships just like the old pirate ships. Then we were going to sail around the world doing trading and such. Ahh the dreams of young kids. I still have hopes of one day sailing around the world, but I intend on loading any ship I sail with guns, cannons, and plenty of ammo to hold my own against any actual pirates. I don't take well to people trying to take my family or friends, and even less to great hulking men who think they are all that and a bag of chips that want to use and abuse me. If I go down, I'm taking most of them with me. Hahaha! Can you imagine? Poor little pirates thinking "oh look, and easy target." Then boom, boom, boom, and half their ship is gone, and the rest is sinking fast, and they are staring down the barrels of 32 pounders, and a dozen or more rifles. Oops, maybe not as easy a target a they thought. Heeheehee. Oh the crazy dreams we dream.
Well, I'm off to make a pot of coffee, heat up my leftover steak, and possibly finish my book today. Later!
