Sentimental, Music, and Movies
I woke up this morning in a sentimental mood. Maybe it had something to do with all the extra cuddling I've gotten the last couple of days, but when Sam woke up early this morning I just couldn't tell her to go back to bed. I actually wanted to get up early with her and spend some just good, solid Mommy/Sam time. So far we've only been up for an hour and already had breakfast, made coffee, changed her, did our hair ( both of us, shocker), unloaded the dishwasher, and started blogging. It's likely to be a typical mom day. Sweatpants, and messy bun, but hey she's at least got pants on, and a shirt! Insert chuckle. Right now she's happily sitting on my lap as I blog staring at the screen as the letter appear when I type them while we listen to Pandora. Mayhap that's a part of my sentimental mood. I love music but sometimes you just can't beat the classics. I don't mean just classical music such as Chopin, and Beethoven, but others like Bing Crosby and Doris Day. There are some newer ones too. Mumford and Sons, Phillip Phillips, and Micheal Buble. Yes, I listen to all kinds of genres, but there are some that are my go to on days when I'm feeling this way. They make me happy.
Music is an expression of the soul. It often reflects what you are feeling. It's why we pick different music to listen to on different days, or times during our day. If I'm feeling sad, I tend to pick something that's instrumental. Happy-something peppy, sentimental-something classic-ish, tired-Lindsey Stirling, creative-well that could be just about anything.
I tend to be the same with the shows I watch. I'm just as happy to sit down and watch Tinkerbell or Barbie as I am something like Deadpool, Aeon Flux, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Pillow Talk. Horror is really the only one I tend to avoid like the plague, unless it's really old B rated horror. Those are just cheesy. I'm one of those people that will watch just about anything if it's something the people with me want to see. Occasionally I'll read a book if it's something I really can't bear to watch at that time. Sad movies...those I won't touch with a ten foot pole. I hate sad movies. I do love musicals. Gamer hates them, but I watch them when he's not home so he doesn't have to listen in. When asked what my favorite movie is I can never answer just one movie. You have to ask what's my favorite in a specific genre or I can't answer. I love to many good movies.
Wow, I've really rambled today. Sorry guys. I can't seem to shake this random mood. Well, as Sam is getting restless and grumpy (probably because she got up to early), I'm going to head out for the day. Let me know what kinds of music and movies you like. I'm always up for exploring something new.
