Beachin' It

I promise I did not forget about all of you. It's just when you can't find internet, you can't post. But I do intend on telling you about everything I saw.
I spent the weekend with Gamer and his parents in a little beach town south of us. The town itself simply exudes life and vitality. With it's quirky little shops, and yummy little cafes, it's a place to enjoy the beach, a little shopping, and some really great food. One of the little cafes I stopped in at had some of the best homemade clam chowder, and bread sticks. I'm not much of a bread person, but this bread was quite delicious. Another little shop I popped into was an eclectic mix of fun and funky mixed with a bit of retro. There were these adorable little dolls. Now, I'm not a doll person at all, but these were the funniest little things. They were called "dammit dolls." No Joke! They are meant for those really bad days were all you want to do is smash something against the wall, or slap some common sense into someone. so instead of doing that, you simply grab the doll by the legs, and smash it against the wall and scream "dammit, dammit, dammit," or whatever you say. For me it would be "dang it, dang it, dang it"....well, normally...
As I have a odd quirk for collecting sweatpants, I of course had to get a pair with the town's name on it. I believe I have somewhere around 4-5 pairs. Yup, I'm strange. If you hadn't figured that out yet...well, now you know. After hunting all over town for the perfect pair for the right price, Gamer and I found the right pair. I love them!!! Each pair of sweatpants I own are each a bit of a different color. I have almost white, light gray, dark gray, black, and something else. Anyways, I just added the black pair to my collection. See, they can't just have the town name, and be a different color, they have to fit and be comfy enough for a cat to want to curl up in them. Notice I say in the not on them. the inside has to be just as comfy as the outside. Like I said, I'm bizarre. What do you collect?
Moving on, we spent a fair amount of time on the beach itself. During the day when the sun was shining and glittering on the waves causing riotous sparks of rainbows. In the evening when the sun is setting, blues, pinks, purples, reds, oranges, and golds glisten on the sand and the glow on the clouds. the whole world seems to hold it's breath waiting for darkness to close in. Yet the waves seem to absorb the colors and toss them up on the shore so you can dance on them in the shallow waves. It feels like getting to play in paint that doesn't get you dirty. Though my favorite is after dark when the stars come out. The gleam like pin pricks on a black blanket that wraps itself around you. It allows you to really focus on certain aspects of the ocean. Watching the white foaming caps of the breakers, and hearing the roar of the ocean are two things we tend to miss so often during the day. You senses become heightened in the dark because you can't rely so much on your sight. You feel the breeze on your face, and the gentle saline air being drawn into your lungs refreshing them. The stars seem closer, and the water splashes against your ankles making you notice the way it moves more than in the daylight. Everything is quieter, and seems stiller, like time is waiting for dawn to break. Breath taking is the only way to truly describe it.
Of all the beauty in nature that I saw, nothing compares to the beauty in the love I see in my husband's eyes. Frolicking on the sand with me, and playing with the waves, we fell in love all over again. Something every couple should do on a regular basis.
So my dear bloggers, I'm going to sign off for the night. Don't forget to fall in love, enjoy those around you, and always live life to the fullest.
