Chinese Food and Rousing Risk
Remind me why I got up at 8:30 this morning? Oh yeah, that's right, so I could get off earlier and head to big brother and sister's for dinner and games. At work this morning we were supposed to serve 70 people...which turned into more like 90-100. Oops. Thankfully we had just enough food. The Lord provides. Our menu was quite delicious. Consisting of crab ragoons, Pad Thai noodles, Shrimp, Chinese BBQ pork, and fried rice, all finished with a coconut and pineapple ice cream topped in toasted coconut and a fortune cookie, the lunch was a smashing hit.
Directly after work, I came home, and passed out on the bed for a little while. I was plumb tuckered out. Gamer dragged me out of bed so we could make dinner and game night with family on time. We still wound up late. Then again, we missed the turn twice. Third times the charm they say. Granted, big brother ran down to the road so we could find the house. He then hopped onto the hood of my MR2 and rode up to the house. Sister had apple pie in the oven and the house smelled amazing. Little one was running around in the cutest dress a person has ever seen. Talk about adorable! Gamer and big brother fired up the charcoal grill and made some delightful BBQ pork ribs. They melted in the mouth so to say. Yum yum!
Once Little one was in bed we pulled out Risk and set to a rousing game of strategy. It was a pretty good battle back and forth between the four of us. With giggles and groans, threats and jokes, we managed to finish the game. Considering I had most of the world when one finally got killed off, we decided I won. I can't wait to play again and laugh our way through it. I do so enjoy a good challenge. next time I think we shall play Settlers of Catan again, but Risk is just as entertaining.
Tomorrow is filled with house cleaning and organizing. My side of the family is coming over in just five days. I would like for the house to be beautiful. Hopefully we will be able to keep it clean for the week. Just until they get here I mean.
Well all, I do believe it's bed time for me. Sleep good bloggers, and I'll see you tomorrow.
