The Beauty of You

So fun fact. Did you know that no one in the world is capable of being you? No one else can accomplish the purpose that you were born to do? No one else can be the perfect mix of genes, personality, and character that makes up you? I know right? Crazy! Only me, can be me? No one can replace me? That's crazy talk right? Nope, it's not. Only you can be you, and no one does it better than you.
This is a lesson I'm attempting to learn myself. That I'm not as replaceable as I tend to think. It's a bit of a weird thought to be honest. I really don't know what in the world a I contribute to the world but apparently something. Author called me the other day to check in and see how things were going. Well, honestly she mostly called because she was in a weird mood and couldn't shake it, but couldn't figure out what was bringing it on. So, we talked about possible things that could be bothering her, which then led into some random something. I honestly don't know what it was but by the end of the conversation she was laughing, so it was a win in my book. A day or so later I called her as I was exhausted and really, really cranky with a boatload of crap to get done. Again the conversation went much like before only in reverse. By the end I was much less cranky, still tired, but laughing at least. With that, I went about my day and Sam and I had a pretty good day. Gamer got off early, and was able to make the doctor appointment for our little boy. We were able to find out why we are heading to a specialist and hear his heartbeat. We can't wait to greet our little boy in about weeks. At any rate, the point is that only Author or I could fill that particular conversation together. And only Gamer can make me feel so safe and snuggled in the morning before he leaves for work. Only I can give him the confidence to tell his co-worker to take a hike when he's being mean to Gamer for no reason. And most importantly, there are things in this world only you can do for people. Whether it's a comforting word, a laugh, or a gentle rebuke. Only you can do it. So next time you are underestimating yourself, don't. Remember instead how wonderful you are, and that you are irreplaceable.
Well bloggers, it's off to my day to get things done and my little world set right. May you see the sun, and don't forget to be only you.
