Ahh Coffee...
As you all know, I love a good cup of coffee. So, when I was in this little coffee shop down the street (not Starbucks for the record, though I do like their coffee), I got to enjoy a great espresso. One of my favorite drinks is known as, wait for it and don't laugh, a "French Kiss". Basically it consists of french vanilla, white chocolate, and caramel. I prefer a double or triple shot with balanced pumps of flavor, but that's just me. Depending on the day I may go with extra sweet. I felt a little bad for the guy behind the bar, but not to bad. When he called out my drink it went something like this. "The French Kiss is ready, and I hope I never have to say that out loud again." "Aww come on, you have to admit that was entertaining." "Well, yeah. I suppose." I think the entire coffee shop chuckled under their breath. Poor guy....well, maybe not.
Another one of my favorites is a little coffee shop downtown that serves the local apple cider hot, then mixes it with caramel syrup to make the most delightful drink. It quite literally tastes like you are drinking a caramel apple without the caramel getting stuck to your teeth. I wasn't entirely sure what to think of it, but it sounded intriguing enough for me to give it a shot. I couldn't believe how much I liked it. It reminded me of when I decided to try what is called a "Root-down". Strangely it consists of Root beer and shots of espresso dumped in. I don't think there is a way to describe it's flavor other than, if you've never had one, you must make it a life's mission. Truly, it's a unique experience.
As much as I love a good espresso, the drip coffee that we make here in the morning is pretty good considering. A dark french roast brewed strong with a delightful bit of french vanilla creamer, and I'm happy as a clam in salt water. Author usually puts my coffee together with the perfect ratio of creamer and coffee. Sadly for me, she is visiting family in another town. I'm super happy that she got to go home right before Thanksgiving, but I do miss her...and my morning coffee she makes. Ah well, she'll be home soon enough.
Today is the start of the rush for me at work. So if you don't hear from me for a while, it's not that I've forgotten you all, I'm just to tired to post. I promise to fill you all in on the happenings of the Sound Castle as soon as I have time to do so. Well, as I do have to be up early tomorrow morning I should sign off for tonight. Don't worry, I'll sing a good morning song to myself for you all in the morning. Goodnight!
