Little Ones
With our niece over today, I realized how excited I am for kids of my own. Putting Little One down, and hearing her cry was so sad, but it gave me an excuse to pick her up and hold her for an hour or so while she slept in my arms. I finally put her in her play pen which is where she is right now sleeping. All the lights in the house are off except the kitchen light, which Scientist is using to make himself breakfast. I'm sitting here mostly in the dark blogging watching Little One sleep. It's such a pleasure to see babies and toddlers sleep. They are so relaxed and comfortable, it makes you want to curl in a ball and snuggle up in some blankets yourself. They are so cute. The soft cadence of their breathing is a lullaby in itself, because you know they are safe and sleeping. In my opinion, there is nothing more peaceful than the soft sound of a little one's breathing.
Liddy is curious as to what this littler person in the little box is. As Liddy has never really spent much time around kids other than my brother and I, she doesn't quite know what to do with them. She is a sweet cat, but even the time she spent around Half-Pint and I was limited, and Half-Pint was already 7 or 8. So tiny toddlers is not something she's ever really seen. Her reaction is rather amusing. She was nosing around the playpen not entirely sure what to make of it, but she seems to have decided it's no threat.
I miss having a little one around to play with and love on. It's always wonderful for me to have Little One here for me to play with, and play mommy for a little while. Granted, I get to do all the spoiling then send her home to big brother and sister. She's an adorable little thing, and so dainty. She has got to be one of the most gentle children I have ever met. When she plays with her toys, she is so careful to not hurt them, and you can give her anything glass because she is so gentle with it you don't have to worry about her breaking it, or hurting herself with it. She even knows to stay out of the kitchen when anyone is cooking unless they specifically tell her she can come in. Even then, she is very cautious one what she touches. I'm hoping to make cupcakes with her later. I think she will enjoy it, as she seems to like being in the kitchen and pretending to cook and play hostess. When we go over to her house, she has an empty creamer bottle that she will fill your coffee with and make sure that you have enough to drink. We indulge her because it's to cute to not. I look forward to having my own kiddos to play with and cook with. Although I won't get to spoil them as much because I have to live with them. But I think they will be plenty spoiled. Just not rotten.
Well bloggers, it's off with me. I hope all of your days are going well, and I look forward to reading your comments. Bye!
