I'm Done, I'm Going Home!

So deciding to go into work in a kitchen on a sprained ankle probably wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done. No idea why that sounded like a good idea. Well, other than I can only take 4 hours of sick leave a day, and I had a 9 hour day on the schedule. With a lunch and a dinner on the event list, fortunately, my boss had sent me a text that night and I called her to let her know about my....fall. She decided that she had enough help for the first event so I was to come in for the second event. Then if my ankle hurt, I was supposed to go home and put it up. I'm a stubborn brat, so I stuck it out until I couldn't handle it anymore and then, and only then, did I go home. My boss followed shortly. I got home, and sat and chilled to take it easy. My poor little foot was ready to be done. It was definitely a "I'm done, I'm going HOME!" kinda days.
The next morning I got up, totally spaced on having a sprained ankle, that is until I stood up and hit the bed again. I'm not used to not being able to just do as I please, so being restrained to the house did not sit well with me. I decided to go shopping. Again, bad idea. I'm  a genius, can you tell? Ok, ok, ok, it's really more that I'm a stubborn, stuck up, will do as I please even if it kills me, little cuss. Hey up side is I got all my wrapping paper and tags for my Christmas presents! I even wrapped a few when I got home. Granted I had to strip out of my soaking wet clothing, and get a cup of hot cocoa in me first. I took Author's car as Gamer had mine, and put gas and a fuel treatment in while I was at it. The only downside was the rain falling sideways because the wind was so strong. That's why I was soaking wet. I did make it home all in one piece though! Well, mostly. My ankle was yelling at the tops of it's ligaments.
Later that night, Gamer took me out on a date that he had planned. Thankfully, due to my ankle, he took me to dinner, and a movie. Very little walking involved in either activity. Thank heavens! So with Mexican food in our bellies, and Thor- The Dark World on the big screen, we had a blast. Speaking of Mexican food, you remember that little place I mentioned a few posts back. We went to a different one last night, and I had to try their version of pollo en mole. This particular restaurant was much heavier on the cinnamon end of things, rather than the other one which was heavier on the peanut and chocolate end of things. Both are very good but I find I prefer the peanut and chocolate over the cinnamon. Something about the cinnamon one was just a smidge to sweet for my tastes. That's not to say I didn't devour the whole thing plus the small basket of chips and salsa. I was terribly hungry.
After our date, I got to come home, and crawl into bed and read for a bit. Then it was nightly night for me!
Today I have an appointment to get contacts. This should be rather entertaining, as I have never had contacts. My glasses are a wide, black band with little stars. They are super cute, but when I'm driving, the band blocks my peripheral vision. In my teeny tiny MR2, which stand all of 6 inches off the ground, that is a very dangerous place to have blocked. So, contacts it is.
Speaking of appointments, I should probably go get ready for mine. I hope all is well in your areas of the world. See ya soon!!!!
